PIXEL ART
NEW MEDIA EXPLORATION

Lens Image Collection

Over the past several years I have become increasingly fascinated with photo collage and pixel manipulation techniques. FLORA STUDIES, a recent body of work, features compositions that have evolved from extensive visual musing and exploration based on the premise that pixels can be crafted and melded into artistic statements. Original photographic images saturate this collection of work, but I do not consider myself a photographer, rather an artist who captures lens images to be used as key ingredients within the fabric of each visual statement. Colors, shapes, forms, patterns and textures are meticulously formulated through the complex digital blending, layering and interweaving procedures as each work matures. The ever-present pixel is constantly worked into a multitude of visual configurations, from smoothly incognito to blatantly exposed.

WRDWRKS Group

Throughout my career as a graphic designer typography has always been considered a key element in the creative mix. Using many of the same melding, blending and layering techniques employed in creating the FLORA STUDIES, WRDWRKS puts forth a group of letters for the viewer’s own interpretation and/or association. Positive and negative elements within the typography work in combination with background ingredients to build color, pattern and shapes which when complete result in a dynamic, contemporary style statement.

ART...When Complete

When complete each piece of art is a one of a kind image that can be sold as an original, or printed in limited editions. The digital process conveniently affords the opportunity to scale the size of the image as preferred, as well as to vary the sub-straight upon which it is printed.
